Introduction

This lens was produced in the 1960s. Here is a good introduction of it: LEICA 135mm f/4 LEITZ WETZLAR ELMAR.

It’s probably the cheapest Leica lens you can get. That’s why I use it to try Leica lens. Most Leica lenses are insanely expensive, at least to me. I got a good copy of it for a little over $100 on eBay.

Basics

The lens is sharp and have good color. The bokeh is smooth. It’s kinda long, but light in weight.

Sample Photos

I used it to take some photos of flowers on a sunny evening. The color came out really nicely.

Thoughts

This lens, while being much cheaper than most Leica lenses, is performing pretty well. But it doesn’t blow me away at all. Someday I’ll try an expensive one on a Leica body. That experience would probably justify the price.
